The Game: You are assigned an intervention. Depending on the available units and the type of intervention, choose the right one and proceed to the coordinates indicated on the map.
On site, you will perform actions (for the intervention) and may be required to call on other units. Upon returning to base or home port, you will be awarded a number of points depending on the difficulty of the intervention. Climb the ranks and levels, reaching the highest level, and win the game.
The missions are intended to be representative of maritime rescue activities, but also instructive. The player is made aware of malicious or reckless acts that can lead to interventions.
Missions 196 is a unique game, as fun, as it is instructive, and as it is realistic.

Historical
It all began on August 1, 2011.
The Audierne SNSM* organized sea excursions for visitors to the sea festival.
It was aboard an SNSM patrol boat that the idea of creating a version of Missions 112 dedicated to maritime rescue was born.
A few days later, within the SDIS29**, we discussed the specific needs of the department’s firefighters for Missions 112, particularly its role in coastal rescue.
That same week in early August 2011, we met at the base of DRAGON 29, the Finistère Civil Security helicopter. It was there that we learned about its missions, particularly its maritime rescue missions. Armed with this information, supplemented by internet research, all the conditions were in place to work on a maritime rescue version of Missions 112.
Following the launch in November 2014 of the emergency number dedicated to maritime rescue, 196, the game was renamed Missions 196 at the end of 2014.
